Anti Viral

If you have a website, sometimes you check Google Analytics. They tell you who, besides you, has visited that little dot on the internet into which you’ve poured most of your soul. If you are a minuscule business owner, chances are the numbers will be in the two to three digit range.

You can see exactly what those 348 world-wide wanderers did when they strayed into your domain. They checked your fees. They read “about you.”  They read your heartfelt “Gratitude” journal entry. It took them 51 seconds. Then they left your website. They were not interested in learning any more about you.

Oh my goodness, this is the world of likes and hashtags and going viral. Or not. I see why unknown people coast along at anonymous jobs, hopefully liking their bosses. I can see why some famous people do too many drugs.

I am grateful to be an unknown person coasting along at an anonymous job, laughing and joking every day with my excellent boss. My poor lonely website gets no marketing. I don’t pack it with keywords. No SEO experts. All I do is say who I am and what I do. That’s how enough people find me so that I can earn a comfortable living.

I am grateful that I earn a comfortable living just by being myself.
